ABOUT US
Christian Youth Camps has been bringing young people together in Otago and Southland since 1963. Based on our own property in Waihola, we’ve been running Christian camps for children for over 60 years.
We’re a Christ-centred organisation, drawing together Christians from all walks of life and all corners of Otago, Southland, and beyond. What unites us is a shared belief in the Christian faith and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the only path to peace with God. We’re governed by an incorporated society that meets annually and elects a supervisory council, ensuring the organisation runs well for everyone it serves.
At the heart of what we do is running camps for children and teenagers throughout the school holidays. From special interest camps for teens at our Waihola site, to off-site hunting camps and adventure-based programmes across the Otago region. There’s something for everyone. Every camp, no matter the focus, includes daily teaching on the foundations of the Christian faith.
There are plenty of ways to be part of what we do. Come and visit us at 70 Finlayson Road, Waihola — just follow the road toward Taieri Mouth and you’ll find us. Think about volunteering at one of our camps, or consider joining the society and taking a more active role in the organisation.
Families are warmly welcome at our Family Camp during the April/May school holidays, and at our Fellowship Days held throughout the year.
