Preamble
In 2013, CYC Waihola celebrated and gave praises to the Lord for 50 years of ministry.
Those early days of Christian Youth Camps Waihola were an exciting and pioneering time of work. A lot of the time the decision-makers took giant leaps of faith – faith that what they were doing was the Lord’s will for the ministry. The Lord has been faithful to guide and bless the ministry of CYC Waihola these last 50 years.
So here we are 50 plus years later and asking how do we remain true to those early pioneers that had a vision. We want to remain true to the purposes we set out with and yet be wise enough to acknowledge that to stay on course we sometimes need to be progressive and open to change.
The Council of Management has appointed a Stategic Planning Working Group to continue working on the Strategic Plan process that was started at a retreat weekend in May 2013. This working group’s role is to:
- give the council insight into what future plans could involve
- collate a strategic plan for the immediate, medium and long term future
This working group has, as part of the process, put together this questionnaire / survey / poll to start the process.

Objects of the Society
The Council of Management believes that everything we do at CYC Waihola should be for the bene t of the objectives of the society, which are:
- To sponsor, control and manage Christian Youth Camps for boys and girls on an
interdenominational basis in New Zealand. The purpose of such camps is to help
boys and girls develop a normal Christian life in the wholesome atmosphere of
Christian Fellowship. - To acquire, hold, manage, dispose of and deal with in any manner whatsoever
any real or personal property to aid and further the charitable work of the
Society. - The raising, holding or expending of any fund or funds in such manner as the
Council of the Society shall direct in accordance with the Charitable objects of
the Society.
