AGM & Fellowship day – 26th June 2021

Come join us for our 2021 AGM.

9 am at the Main Lodge

A great time of celebration and thanksgiving for the year that has been and a time of planning for the year ahead. All welcome. 

Fellowship Day.

  • Meet at camp at 10:30 am.

Our AGM will finish around 10 am with a morning tea so feel free to come then to have a cuppa before we get started. We will work from 10:30 till lunch, refresh & be encouraged by a testimony or devotion & get back into it or call it a day! We would love to see you there old, young, new, you’ve been here a hundred times, the more the merrier, and join in a day of work and fellowship!

  • If you can, bring a plate for a shared lunch/Bring your own lunch but don’t worry we will have something to cover if you don’t bring anything.

Jobs/tasks for the day…

  • Planting. Our main aim for the day is going to be planting a tonne of seedlings over the property, it doesn’t matter if you’ve done this before this is a job for everyone!

  • If you would rather do something less muddy there is always spring cleaning, windows, odd jobs to be done around the campsite.

What to bring…

If you are able to please bring the following items:

  • Personal Safety Equipment: Safety glasses, Gardening gloves, Earmuffs, Etc.
  • Bring/Wear Gumboots & clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy.
  • Bring any spades, Shovels, gardening gloves, planting gear you have.
  • If you can bring a plate for a shared lunch we will have something to cover if you don’t bring anything.
  • Any Pruning gear you have.

Fellowship day – 10th April 2021

Come join us for our Autumn fellowship day for 2021.

This is a day to get involved investing in camp. 

Whether you’re new to camp or a familiar face we would love you to join us on Saturday 10th April for a day of fellowship. Get to know some of our staff and long serving volunteers as we work around the camp together, getting some of the odd jobs done to better the camp.  

Plan for the day. 

  • Meet at the Homestead at 9:30am.

  • Lunch at 12:30pm. Either bring your own lunch or something to share – we’ll provide something simple and hot drinks.

  • Unless you have to head off, stay for a round of Frisbee Golf and have a chance to have some fun together before the day finishes.

Come join us for our first fellowship day for 2021.

This is a day to get involved investing in camp. 

Whether you’re new to camp or a familiar face we would love you to join us on Saturday 27th February for a day of fellowship. Get to know some of our staff and long serving volunteers as we work around the camp together, getting some of the odd jobs done to better the camp.

This is a day to get involved investing in camp. 

Whether you’re new to camp or a familiar face we would love you to join us on Saturday 29th August for a day of fellowship. Get to know some of our staff and long serving volunteers as we work around the camp together, getting some of the odd jobs done to better the camp. 

As it is still winter, we will still be running the day even if it is bad weather, as we have plenty of inside jobs needing to be done.

Plan for the day. 

  • Meet at camp at 10:00am (or at 9am if you want to attend our AGM) at the Main Lodge, have some morning tea then get stuck into it.

  • Lunch at 1:00pm. Either bring your own lunch or something to share – we’ll provide something simple and hot drinks.

  • Unless you have to head off, stay for some ‘Friendly Competition’ in Archery Tag and have a chance to have some fun together before the day finishes. 

What to bring...

If you are able please bring the following items:

Green thumb or not this is the perfect job to get out side and chat as you pull weeds.

Spring Cleaning

As Rapunzel from the Disney classic Tangled sings "nine a.m. the usual morning lineup. Start on the dusting & sweep till the bunk-rooms all clean. Polish & wax do windows & mop & shine up" There are plenty of different jobs needing to be done!

Pruning

Try your hand at using 'giant gardening scissors' to prune the bushes and trees!

Who wouldn't want to do this?

2019 CYC Family Camp

REGISTRATIONS FOR FAMILY CAMP ARE NOW CLOSED – SORRY!

Family Camp is our annual camp for families to attend and have some good theologically sound teaching.

Dates:  Monday 22nd – Friday 26th April 2019
Price:  Donation to cover cost of food and accommodation
Camp Venue:  Main Lodge @ CYC Waihola
Camp Age Group:  All Ages – however young people under 16 need to have an adult responsible for them also at the camp.

Speakers

Jason Pickard

Jason and Sarah have been married from twelve, almost thirteen, years and are the proud parents of Natalie (8), John (6), and Annabelle (5). The family loves New Zealand and have greatly enjoyed their new home. Grace Bible Church has been a huge blessing for the family. Jason attended Westminster Theological Seminary and served in pastoral ministry in the Presbyterian Church in America for seven and a half years before coming to do doctoral work at the University of Otago in January 2018. Jason’s work is in systematic theology and he also serves as an online instructor for church history at Westminster Theological Seminary. When he is not studying, Jason is likely out for a run or playing with his kids. He has particularly enjoyed learning this new game called cricket!

Jason will be speaking on The Lord's Prayer.

Geoff Lloyd

Geoff and his wife Sara moved to Southland from Wales in 2014. Geoff is pastor of Wyndham Evangelical Church and Sara works as a writer. They have a young son, Daniel.

Geoff will be speaking on church history.

Ian Bayne

Ian has been a pastor of Grace Wellington for ages and before that Ashburton. Ian with his wife Glenys still enjoy the ministry in Wellington our capital city. They have three children who are all married and three grandchildren who fill their lives with much joy and pleasure. In their spare time they enjoy fishing in the Cook Straight and relaxing at their Canterbury farm.

Ian will be speaking on The Crisis and Opportunity Of The Church.
