CYC STAFF INSTRUCTED

Archery Tag

CYC Waihola is an official license holder of Archery Tag. This fast-paced, dodgeball-style game uses bows and soft-tipped arrows for an action-packed team challenge.

It’s competitive, high energy, and a whole lot of fun — voted our most epic activity by campers in 2018.

Recommended Group Size: 6 – 12

GEOCACHING

Hunt for 30 hidden geocaches around the CYC Waihola campsite using our GPS units. Think of it as high-tech treasure hunting – like orienteering, but with gadgets and rewards.

Perfect for groups, with up to 50 people able to join the adventure at once.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

WATERSLIDE

Take a ride on our high-speed 80-metre waterslide, one of our most popular CYC activities.

A fun, high-energy option that works great for groups.

ZIPLINE

An adrenaline-filled 80-metre ride, soaring 14 metres high across a deep gully.

It’s easily one of our top five, rated by the kids, and works great as part of a group rotation.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

GROUP TRAINEE INSTRUCTED

Archery

Grab a bow, pick up a carbon fibre arrow, and see if you can hit the target! Perfect for beginners, it’s all about focus, fun, and friendly competition on our outdoor range.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

AIR RIFLES

Entry-level .177 air-powered rifles with either a scope or open sights, using lead pellets to shoot at targets on our range.

A steady hand and good focus go a long way — great for those who enjoy a bit of precision and control.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

BUBBLE Balls

Climb into an inflatable bubble suit and try to bump your way past the other team to score a goal. It’s chaotic, hilarious, and guaranteed to get everyone laughing.

One of our top five rated-by-the-kids activities, and a great option as part of a group rotation.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 12

MOUNTAIN BOARDS

Test your balance and speed on a mountain board — like snowboarding, but on grass, so no cold feet!

A fun, fast-paced activity that works well as part of group rotations.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

FREE ACTIVITIES

CONFIDENCE COURSE

Our onsite confidence course includes tyre climbs, net crawls, rope swings, balance beams, and a high wall to challenge even the fittest participants.

It’s a versatile activity that can be used in many ways, including team-building challenges for groups.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

BOULDERING WALL

Our entry-level bouldering wall lets you climb without a harness. See if you can make it from one side of the wall to the other without falling off.

CAMPFIRE

Our campfire is a great way to end the night — with marshmallows, a sing-along, and time together around the fire.

KIDS PLAYGROUND

Our recently upgraded kids’ playground features slides, climbing bars, and a cool fort to play on.

GAGA BALL

Gaga Ball is a fast-paced game played in a pit where players hit a ball, aiming to eliminate others by striking them below the knees. It’s easy to learn and gets everyone involved straight away.

You’ll love the quick reactions and last-player-standing excitement — see if you can outlast the rest!

DISC GOLF

Disc golf is played with frisbees, aiming to land the disc in the basket. We have installed 9 disc golf baskets around the campsite for you to play.

You’ll love the “chink” of the chains when you hit the basket — see if you can get a hole in one!

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

TEAM INITIATIVE COURSE

Our on-site team initiative course is full of challenges designed to test your group. Activities include Spider’s Web, Holey Barrel, Crocodile Mile, Blindfold Geometry, and more.

A great option for building teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Recommended Group Size: 5 – 10

Waihola Walking

Take a relaxed walk through Waihola Township or along the edge of Lake Waihola, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and fresh air. It’s a great way to unwind, take in the scenery, and spend time together as a group.

You’ll love the calm pace and beautiful views — keep an eye out for wildlife along the way!

EQUIPMENT HIRE

KAYAK HIRE

Hire our kayaks and explore the shoreline of Lake Waihola.

A great activity for groups to get out on the water and enjoy the surroundings.

SLACKLINES

Test your balance on a 50 mm wide nylon slackline and see how far you can make it.

A fun challenge that works well as part of group rotations, especially when combined with Mountain Boarding.
